Jamie Thomson, DPT
Jamie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology from California State University of Long Beach with an emphasis in exercise science. She went on to earn her Physical Therapy Doctorate in 2013 from the University of St. Augustine in San Diego, where she graduated with honors. She also completed specialized training in Graston Technique and is a qualified Graston Technique Provider.
Dr. Thomson’s physical therapy training largely focused on manual therapy. Dr. Thomson’s in-depth training in soft tissue and manual therapy techniques, combined with her solid knowledge of kinesiology and exercise science, make her a well-rounded and exceptional physical therapist. Prior to becoming a physical therapist, she worked as a certified sport massage therapist for 5 years, specializing in deep soft tissue treatment, and working with professional athletes ranging from our local AVP beach volleyball players to NBA and MLB players.
Born and raised in the South Bay, Dr. Thomson played competitive sports all her life. She competed in softball at the collegiate level and continues to participate in local recreational adult sporting leagues. Dr. Thomson became interested in physical therapy after completing an extensive course of therapy as a teenager to rehabilitate a complicated ankle fracture sustained while playing soccer.
