
Melanie Christine Barillas, OTR/L, HTC, PAMs
Melanie, a South Bay native, earned her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dominican University of California in 2022. Her passion for the profession began during an internship at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Hospital, where she worked with patients in outpatient spinal cord injury, post-polio, and arthritic care.
With the goal of becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT), Melanie focuses her practice on the treatment of complex upper limb conditions caused by trauma, disease, or congenital and acquired deformities. She also has specialized training in the fabrication of custom hand orthoses to support recovery and function.
Melanie is a Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP) and an active member of both the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT) and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Outside of the clinic, she enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, and reading.
